I've chosen to run for this cause in honour of my uncle, who is currently suffering from dementia in his early 40's. There are literally no care options for him outside of aged care - which is more than a little undignified.

Right now, 6,500 young Australians are living in aged care facilities, simply because there are few alternatives. A further 700,000 are being cared for at home by family and friends, often with limited support.

Youngcare works to raise awareness of the issue and to provide choice in care and housing options for young people with high care needs.
